The representation we encounter in pop culture, particularly in beauty advertisements, plays a role in influencing the next generation's ideals regarding conventional beauty standards. Because of this, when Lil Nas X teamed up with YSL Beauty in August 2022 to become the first male rapper in history to front a makeup campaign, we knew we were in for something special.

The representation is bold, Black, and even more significant because it focuses on a new standard of beauty.

We all adore the generational superstar and iconoclast because of his confidence, which is one of the reasons for a society that has long been fixated on and subjected to Black people to Western standards of beauty. His words of wisdom for those who find it difficult to accept themselves as they are? Try your best to treat yourself with the same level of love whether you're feeling good or not. Lil Nas X acknowledges that he didn't suddenly develop his confidence. It undoubtedly took him some time to develop his confidence to the level it is at this point, he admits.
