We're elated to announce that our decor dreams are coming to fruition thanks to Solange Knowles's Saint Heron team, which has paired up with Jason McDonald, a Philadelphia-based glass artist, and has released limited edition Small Matter Art Objects. Saint Heron's dedication to empowering future artists is evident in its recognition of the importance of acknowledging and practicing the intergenerational language of expression and the spiritual act of creation.

The dual collection, which was unveiled on June 20th, showcases the tangible outcome of combining sand and fire to create unique glass art pieces. Under Saint Heron's commerce initiative Small Matter, which aims to highlight the sculptural and architectural vigor at the nexus of design and contemporary art, the group of art objects will be introduced. A selection of five pieces were hand-blown by McDonald in his Philadelphia studio for the collection of glass art objects. Each unique functional sculpture in the 198-piece Small Matter art collection will reflect the institution's intentionality and purposeful mission as well as Saint Heron's design language.

Knowles and Saint Heron hosted a launch celebration for her glassware line for tastemakers and influencers in New York City on June 14, 2023. The event included an installation titled "A House is Not a Home" that was inspired by Luther Vandross. The guests savored the drinks while enjoying the new exhibit.

In a recent IG post-Knowles stated, "Celebrating the launch of Small Matter Art Objects: Glassware 001, Saint Heron's 'A House is Not a Home' (2033) Installation connects the sentiment of black domesticity and intention of the collection's design and process to Luther Vandross's 'A House is Not a Home' live performance in 1989 at Wembley Stadium in England," "The installation, which is a performance art metaphor for the Small Matter Art Objects: Glassware 001 collection, captures the radiance, intimacy, and lyrical musings of Vandross' unforgettable live rendition of Dionne Warwick's 1964 original inside a self-designed replica house structure. Through the promotion of Black collections, Saint Heron hopes to maintain the sacredness of the home, occupying space, and household items that have been introduced by the lyrics "a chair is not a house, and a house is not a home, occupying space, and household objects through the landscape of Black domesticity – and Saint Heron wishes to continue that sacredness through the encouragement of Black collections.”
